About Dr. Ira Berman DMD

 Dr. Ira A Berman grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y.. He graduated from Boston University with a B.A in biology in 1987.  He then studied at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where he received his DMD degree in 1991.

After finishing dental school , he completed a 2 year residency in  Dental and Oral surgery at Brookdale Hospital and Medical center in 1993.

He began treating patients at Comprehensive Dental Group in 1994.  Dr. Berman provides all types of  dentistry, with an emphasis on the latest cosmetic and orthodontic techniques. He  married  his wife Dawn in 1999 and they have a son, Zachary.

Dr. Berman is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Functional Orthodontics, and International Association of Orthodontics.

About Dr. Jeffrey Simon, DDS

Dr. Simon, also a Brooklyn native, graduated from Brooklyn College in 1969 with a B.A. in Biology. He subsequently studied at New York University College of Dentistry, earning his DDS degree in 1973. After spending six years in private practice he pursued his postgraduate dental education in Pediatric Dentistry, a two year specialty program at Harbor/ UCLA Hospital in Torrance, California, which he completed   in 1981.                       

After residing in California and Taiwan, Dr. Simon returned to the NYC area and began his Pediatric Dental practice at Comprehensive Dental Group in Larchmont in 1986. Additionally, his pursuit of continuing education in the field of Orthodontics has allowed him to expand the scope of his practice to include Orthodontic treatment as well.

Dr. Simon's unique blend of skills and personality have enabled him to establish many long-lasting relationships with area residents. He cordially invites you to become a member of the CDG family.

About Dr. Chris Harlin, DMD 

Dr.Harlin was born and raised in the suburbs of Putnam County before pursing his academics in Massachusetts. After obtaining a Bachelor’s in Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Dr. Harlin then pursued his dental education at Boston University’s Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and was awarded Magna cum laude. Dr. Harlin furthered his training at Jacobi Medical Center’s level 1 trauma center as a general practice resident. There Dr.Harlin gained great experience in comprehensive treatment planning, treating those who are medically compromised and implant restorations. 

Dr. Harlin is dedicated to the needs of his patients and strives to deliver superior results by developing each treatment plan in detail, based on the unique oral health needs and treatment objectives of every patient. He also believes strongly in open communication, providing patients with information about their condition, care and treatment and answering every patient’s questions and concerns so they can feel confident and secure in their care and their results.

About Dr. Alan Pernikoff

Dr. Alan Pernikoff is a born and raised New York City Board Certified Periodontist. After receiving his Bachelors of Arts from Brooklyn College, he earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from New York University College of Dentistry. It was during this time in which he discovered his passion in Periodontics as he graduated with honors in Periodontics and received the Quintessence Award for Clinical Achievement in Periodontics.

After completing a one-year General Practice Residency at New York Hospital Queens where he received the Dr. Lawrence Diamond award for Clinical Excellence in Periodontics, Dr. Pernikoff went on to complete a 3a year specialty training program in the field of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at NYU College of Dentistry. While being trained and mentored by some of the top periodontists in the field, he obtained vast knowledge in treating patients with a wide range of services and procedures, both simple and complex, including dental implants, periodontal plastic surgery, periodontal therapy, sinus lifts, extractions, and bone grafting.

Dr. Pernikoff has showcased and presented his work at dental meetings and symposiums including the American Academy of Periodontology annual meeting and the Jay-Siebert Tri-School symposium. Dr. Pernikoff believes in treating each patient as an individual and giving his patients all treatment options.

He is LANAP certified clinician so that he can offer his patients a less painful and invasive alternative to traditional periodontal therapy using the FDA cleared Laser protocol to treat periodontitis. He is also a pinhole certified clinician allowing him to offer his patient a minimally invasive method to rejuvenate their gums without any blades or sutures.

Dr. Pernikoff also believes in giving back to his profession as well as is passionate about teaching. He holds a faculty appointment in the Department of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at NYU as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor. It is here where he trains both dental students and residents in the latest techniques in periodontics and implant dentistry.
